Once The Franklin
Forge has your invention idea filed at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and it is
Patent Pending, our product development consultants turn their energies towards finding a
manufacturer who would be willing to license your invention and pay you royalties. We
offer two programs to assist inventors with transforming an invention idea into a
profitable reality.
I. The Presentation Program
This individualized program includes:
- Drafting your product proposal for presenting your patent pending or patented invention
idea to manufacturers
- Researching prospective manufacturers
- Handling responses from interested parties
- Making recommendations on manufacturer's waivers
- Performing appropriate follow-up work
- Negotiating and drafting a licensing agreement when necessary
Learn more about the advantages of choosing The
Franklin Forge.
II. The Do-It-Yourself Program
This invention idea marketing program is the same as the full-service program, including the patent application, except that you put in the effort to submit your patent pending or patented invention for presentation to industry. We provide you with a personalized product proposal for you to submit to manufacturers, and a list of companies and pre-addressed envelopes. When a manufacturer responds, we will be happy to give our advice on how to handle each response. The cost of this program is $4900.00.
If you already have an issued patent or your invention is
currently patent pending, The Franklin Forge can tailor a presentation program for your
invention idea to suit you needs.
Do Manufacturers Really Use Outside Invention Ideas?
The answer to this question is, Yes! For many industries the best new product invention
ideas are not generated in-house - they come from outside, from people such as yourself.
Howard Hermann of Dow Corning emphatically agrees! Mr. Hermann is involved in licensing
for Dow Corning, and deals with outside inventors on a regular basis. When asked at the
Inventors' Council of Michigan, "Why [do] companies deal with outside
inventors?" he replied:
"Simply to
increase their supply of new products. Companies need new products to survive. As old
products become obsolete, new products must come on stream to replace the lost
revenue..."
"...All companies engage in in-house product development. The smarter companies also
look outside to augment their resources and give them a competitive edge over those who
don't."
We can help with the patenting process and selling inventions,
but only you can initiate the process. And it's simple. Confidentially send your invention
idea to The Franklin Forge using our Invention Record Form, or contact us for more
information!
