The Franklin Forge: Invention Presentation
Presentation Of An Invention To Manufacturing Companies
Our initial contact with manufacturers is a simple and straightforward product proposal that outlines the concept, its benefit and/or convenience to the consumer, and pertinent market information.
The proposal is designed to catch the attention of the person reading it, not to overwhelm. People in manufacturing are busy and their time is valuable. The initial approach is intended to pique their interest and spark a desire to learn more about the concept.
If a company does show interest, someone will call or email for more detailed information. Ideally, this leads to the ultimate goal of a lucrative buy-out or a licensing agreement that will generate quarterly royalty payments.
Giving your idea exposure to manufacturing companies is the way to achieve success. This is what we do:
• Research appropriate manufacturers to approach and provide you with a list of those companies.
• Develop a product proposal to pique their interest.
• Approach manufacturers directly, traveling to them as we deem necessary.
We do not waste time with trade shows and websites as they are totally ineffective.
• Handle all manufacturers’ responses and inform you of them all.
• Provide follow-up information when requested.
• Review and advise on manufacturer waiver forms.
• Handle negotiations, including presenting and advising you on all offers.
• Make certain the manufacturer does not shelve the idea.
• Draft the final agreement, or review the final agreement if drafted by the manufacturer.
If you have been awarded a patent, or you’re patent application has been published, we would be happy to provide you with a market assessment. If it passes our assessment process we would send you a no-obligation proposal to present your idea to manufacturers. All you need do is email your patent number or published patent pending number.
